Sapienza University-Does Sapienza offer courses taught in English?
Established way back in 1303, Sapienza University of Rome is one of the largest public research universities in Europe. At present, it has around 140,000 students, and is divided into 11 faculties and 65 departments. In short, Sapienza resembles a small town rather more than a university , and is scattered through Rome, with a main campus of 110 acres at University City, and other campuses spread across the capital.
Sapienza is huge, and still expanding. It currently has 54 libraries, with the main Alessandrina Library containing 1.5 million volumes. It offers every type of club, society and sporting activity, houses 18 museums, and organises choirs, jazz ensembles, orchestras, theatrical performances etc. Whatever you may dream of taking up or enjoying, it is virtually bound to be available at this university.

What is the pre-application selection process?
Anyone who wishes to study a course taught in English has to fill in an online pre-selection application and upload a number of documents, which can include references, transcripts, a CV, portfolio – if applicable – their diploma, language certificates etc. Contact Elab and will give you up to date information on what you need to prepare and submit.
You can apply for two programs at a time, and once you have been offered a place, you need to register on the INFOSTUD system, and get a student number. Remember, if you have not registered, you will be unable to sit exams and qualify. Elab can help you work your way through the whole application process and ensure that you meet all the deadlines and have all the necessary paperwork in place.
What are the entry requirements?
Sapienza demands an IELTS overall score of 6, to confirm English language proficiency.
Applicants who are sitting the IB should aim for a score of 30.
Is it expensive to study in Italy?
Tuition fees in Italian public universities are significantly cheaper than in much of Europe and the cost of living is also quite reasonable. Each university sets its own fees, according to the course and the level of studies, but in general public universities charge from around 900 to 4000 euros a year. DO NOT FORGET that you can apply for national, regional or university scholarships to cover the costs of tuition. Elab will help you to submit the most appropriate scholarship application forms, so get in touch if you want additional information or have any questions.
The cost of accommodation in Italy ranges from 300-600 euros a month, and you will need another 500 or so euros to pay for food, bills, telephone calls, leisure, transport and studying materials. Overall, then, around 1000 euros a month will cover all your expenses.
